Job Summary
Asteroid Health is a thriving start-up offering mental health services in the Newton, MA area. We offer Psychiatric Day Treatment (Partial-Care Services) and General Outpatient services (e.g. weekly individual counseling).
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health and be skilled in various therapeutic modalities. This role involves but is not limited to, providing high-quality mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and grief counseling to individuals and families. The Clinician will work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans that address their unique needs and promote overall well-being.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients’ mental health needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to support clients in acute distress
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with ICD-10 coding standards. Ensuring documentation is timely.
- Engage in supervisor approved clinical research as needed to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
- Provide support and resources for additional community services as appropriate and necessary.
- Stay informed about developments in the field of behavioral health to ensure the application of evidence-based practices.
- Work with client's from intake to discharge ensuring appropriate care (including appropriate admission and discharge).
- Maintains appointed caseload.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical records management
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices
- Experience working in the field of mental health. Preferably partial-care/ psychiatric day treatment
- Excellent crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of various psychotherapy techniques tailored to diverse populations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective workplace and client interaction
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and the companies mission
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a behavioral health-related field
- License in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or substance use, (i.e. LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, and/ or similar licensure) license preferred but not necessary
- 2 years experience at minimum required in the field
- ASAM and DSM experience and knowledge
- Demonstrated computer and communication proficiency

Pay: Starting at $62,000.00 per year
